Honda portable generators in Colorado
Honda's EU inverter generators are the quiet, clean-power option for running furnaces and electronics. Honda recommends a dealer carburetor modification for regular use above 5,000 feet, so plan on that visit if you live anywhere west of Denver.

Warranty
3 years residential and 12 months commercial use. An optional extended warranty is available (the page says up to 36 months).
Altitude
Honda EU-series owner's manual (EU20i): engine horsepower decreases about 3.5% per 1,000 ft. If the generator is always used above 5,000 ft (1,500 m), Honda recommends a dealer carburetor modification.
Cold weather
Not published on the model pages (no operating temperature range or cold-weather kit listed).
Monitoring and the app
Honda My Generator app over built-in Bluetooth (start/stop on EU7000iS, wireless stop, output and fuel monitoring, service reminders). Bluetooth is local, so it works with no grid or internet, but only within Bluetooth range.
Recalls
We found no U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls of this brand’s home-backup products since 2021, as of October 2026.
What a Colorado homeowner should know
- Only the EU7000iS among the reviewed Honda models offers 240 V for a transfer switch or interlock. The EU2200i and EU3200i are 120 V only.
- All three Honda models reviewed are gasoline-only (no dual-fuel option on these pages), which matters for fuel storage in long multi-day outages.
- Honda's EU-series manual recommends a dealer carburetor modification for regular use above 5,000 ft, which covers much of Colorado's Front Range and mountain towns.
Check whether Honda fits your list before you buy: the calculator shows running watts, starting watts, and hours of runtime.
